Women’s Domestic Violence 101
Education and Support Group

Domestic violence can be defined as a pattern of behavior in any relationship that is used to gain or maintain power and control over an intimate partner. Abuse is physical, sexual, emotional, economic or psychological actions or threats of actions that influence another person. This includes any behaviors that frighten, intimidate, terrorize, manipulate, hurt, humiliate, blame, injure, or wound someone. Domestic violence can happen to anyone of any race, age, sexual orientation, economic class, immigration status, religion, or gender. It can happen to couples that are married, living together, or who are dating. Domestic violence affects people of all socioeconomic backgrounds and education levels.

Domestic Violence 101

Is a educational and support group for women 18 and older who have been affected by domestic violence.  This group provides women with a place to learn with peers and gain empowerment through exploring relationship dynamics and positive self image.  This group meets weekly for 8 weeks,

The focus is:

  • Understanding the dynamics of abuse.
  • Healthy relationship building and personal growth.

When is it available?

Registration for Fall groups is now open

January 9 – February 27, 2019 , Wednesdays 1-3 p.m., 6-8 p.m.

  • Child care is provided for the afternoon session, contact for details and to reserve a spot.
  • Individuals interested in the program are required to register.
