The Women's Outreach has a 25 year history in Red Deer and central Alberta as an advocate for women and their children. While the delivery of services and programs has evolved over the years, the mandate to assist women who have chosen to pursue a safer, healthier, and more secure life for themselves and their families has remained consistent.

A result of this evolution, the Women's Outreach has a broad focus. The agency's ability to change and adapt our programs and services to meet the needs with our community makes us unique. However, it also brings its challenges; in that, we rely on our strong base of funders and community partners to financially support our agency.

Meeting community need has brought the Women's Outreach to its next step in growth and making a difference in the lives of women. The development of "Julietta's Place", an affordable ten (10) unit housing project, is a first for the City of Red Deer. Currently, Julietta's Place is the only second stage housing available to women and children escaping domestic violence, or crisis, circumstances in Central Alberta.

Life changes are difficult in the best of times. This housing project will provide a secure base, necessary for these families, to take the necessary steps toward long-term stability. Julietta's Place will ensure a safe, secure, supportive and healthy environment for these women and their children, during this turbulent time of change in their lives. Their success will be in not having to walk this journey alone. Long-term support is critical toward maintaining a safer life, and through a sustainable resource network the Women's Outreach will provide access to those programs and services that will assist them in living an independent life ~ safe from abuse.
