This group will provide education and support to women who are, or have been involved in abusive relationships. Learning about the levels of abuse, the Cycle of Violence, characteristics of battered women including those who batter, warning signs and patterns will be the major part of the educational component.
Other topics include: co-dependency, power and control issues, children’s issues, family history and why women stay. This group is intended to help women live with whatever choice they choose to make. We will provide information on getting help, developing a safety plan and some legal issues. A critical component of this program will be allowing time for women to share their stories.
