SOCIETY OBJECTIVES:
According to the Corporate Registry Examiner at Alberta Government Services the Corporate Registry no longer accepts Vision, Mission, or Goal statements. This information should be kept in the society’s internal records. Objectives are action statements about what your society was formed to do. They include our target group and our charitable purpose.
Objective amendments are considered an application amendment and require a special resolution.
The objectives currently filed with the Corporate Registry Office are our former Vision and Mission statements. They were incorporated into our Bylaws at Article 2. Those statements were amended by action of the Board of Directors on January 23, 2003.
Our former Mission was:
The Central Alberta Women’s Outreach Society is committed to providing programs and services that support women and their families who may be experiencing difficulty meeting their basic needs. Our priorities are families affected by poverty and/or abuse.
Our current mission statement is:
Helping women who have chosen to pursue a safer, healthier and more secure life for themselves and their families.
Our target group (women and their families) remains the same.
Our charitable purpose remains much the same. Our revised objective would read:
Central Alberta Women's Outreach Society is committed to providing programs and services that support women and their families who are experiencing barriers to achieving their goals in the areas of safety, health and security.
As a matter of policy, we set our priorities within that charitable purpose internally via our strategic planning process. Our current priorities are:
Domestic/family abuse.
Help women to deal with the effects of poverty on their lives an their family, especially their children.
Access to appropriate affordable housing.
Assistance working with/through the legal system.
